Hello there!
So here’s how I’ve been and an update on what we’ve been doing:D
Yesterday marked our first 3 weeks of ministry here in Poptun Peten. Only 3 more weeks to go and I don’t know where the time has gone! The days have been long and tiring but looking back has been so fast. My class of chikitos (little ones) can now identify their primary colors!!! (I’m so proud of them:)
I find that the culture here is so based on relationships and giving is just a part of that. These people have so little to give but they do anyway, I have been given so much from these people as a sign of their gratitude and it warms my heart every time. I’ve received candies, fruits, drawings, a hairband, art projects, vegetables, a squash, peanuts, hugs and so much more. Their generosity is amazing to me.
Last week we had the chance to go to Flores for a day and it was so beautiful! We got to swim in a beautiful lake, visit Tikal (a national park with Mayan ruins), see the city and enjoy time with the One Way team! It was such a surreal opportunity and I’m so thankful that we were able to see more of this beautiful country.
Yesterday we had a women’s event at one of the community’s we work in and it was amazing. My teammate Sarah was the coordinator of it and she outdid herself! We had about 25 women show up and they played games, had some snacks, talked about our worth in God, engaged in meaningful conversations, had lots of fun and built relationships with each other and our team. I got to keep and play with the very little kiddos while the momma’s participated in the event:) (the guys entertained the bigger kids while this was all happening)
All together, my time here has been awesome. I have seen the Lord work through my team and the One Way team in these communities. We are often tired and ready to drop at the end of each day but I am continuously refreshed by the little kiddos that we see everyday. I know that we are right where God wants us. We are loving these kids and communities as we know He would and does.
Anyway, that’s the update!
Love, Jordan

Jordan, I love to hear “you are right where you need to be.” The Lord is pleased with your heart to serve the “littles.” You are making such an impact as you love the Guatemalan people. They will never forget. I’m praying for each of the 25 women that came to Beauty for Ashes! We ar proud of you for your faithfulness!
Jordan, sweet girl, you have such a mothering spirit.
I love when you say “We are loving these kids and communities as we know He would and does.”
Jesus is shining through you. Thank you for your open hands to whatever he calls you into. Don’t be afraid to recognize the power of the quiet moments you are having as well as the energized loud ones with them. The quiet peace of the spirit that YOU carry is powerful.
